Our family got to visit a dear friend from middle school and high school that now lives in San Diego with her husband. They are wonderful people and we had a great time. They have annual passes to the San Diego Zoo and had some free tickets and discounts to the San Diego wild animal park. It was all really fun. Here are some pictures of our trip.

Here Penelope is feeding some ducks and geese. But I'm sure they are called something more special then that. : ) After that we went for a bird show that showed a lot of cool and interesting birds.

We got to get really close to animals. We walked around a lion enclosure to see this lion sleeping away. After a couple of minutes of watching her sleep she woke up suddenly staring us straight in the face. It was a little startling. LOL.
The next day we went to downtown San Diego, walked around, and went to a puppet show. Where we bought Penelope a marionette, which we are still trying to untangle. But it is so cute to watch her play with.
