ch-ch-ch-changes

Well I have finally updated my blog. I had been reading a couple additional blogs, which I added on the title "blog additions". And then I finally updated my book corner with books that I am actually reading. It was way outdated. Oh well. Then I added one book by Amy Carmichael that I want to read. She came highly recommended and her life story sounded very interesting. So after searching all of her books on amazon. I hope I picked a good one to start off with.

And of course, I have changed the title. I was actually thinking about changing the title before I got pregnant. Because we don't say table for two plus a highchair anymore. We say table for three. But now that our family is growing we might as well advance it all the way. The "please" at the end is a comical thing, at least to Russell and I. We have started the many years of teaching "please", "thank you", and "welcome". So it just sounds appropriate at this time.

Here's the news...

So...if some of you haven't gotten the many hints from facebook and my blog, I'm expecting. I have tried to tell people, but if I haven't told you yet I'm sorry. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and so far it's going a little better with the nausea then it did with Penelope. It's basically opposite, where before I was most sick in the morning and it would get better through out the day. But now I am most sick in the evening around dinner time. I am hoping that it might be the food triggers that I have had during dinner. Maybe the cheese? So tonight I'm not doing any cheese and we are going to see how it goes. So far I feel pretty well. Hey, if I don't miss any work over the nausea this pregnancy I'm going to figure it was an improvement.

I have already had an ultrasound and as the ultrasound tech said, "my little grains of rice have a blinking light". So he/she has a heart beat. Yay! If you guys can just keep me in your prayers. Pray that there be no complications with this pregnancy like there was with the last one. And the God would protect this little one and keep he/ she safe.

break off for an adventure

Yesterday we, or should I say I, got a chance to sleep in. Much needed since I havne't been able to sleep very good lately. However as soon as I got up, around 9 to 10 ish. I was still so exausted I sat at the bottom of the tub to take a shower. I sure hope this insomnia ends soon. Russell had the great idea to go to the mountains. We were sure there would be some snow since it had just rained here last night. And right we were. We had a blast. Exhausted or not. We ended up heading to Lake arrowhead where they had just enough snow to play with. We played in the snow went down to the village and looked at the local shops. Then went down and had some coffee and pastries at a small cafe. Then we went to play in the snow some more and had dinner at a cute little mexican restuarant. It was really fun and spontaneous! I love stuff like that! We found out later it was good that we stoped at Lake Arrowhead instead of going a little further to Big Bear because it snowed a little bit more there and you needed chains. Something we would have had to buy and would have made me nervous because our hybrid car isn't any where near 4-wheel drive and that was the first time I had experienced driving in the snow.
FYI. If you look closely at the picture at the top those white specs are falling snow. My first time to see that! And the babies first time in snow!

stuff to ponder on....

Pastor Chris (our senior pastor) of our church is taking a trip to Isreal and started a blog about his journey. It has really been so interesting to read. I encourage you to go over and read his insights. It makes me hunger so much to see this land one day with my own eyes. But until then, I am here still waiting on my promise land.

I've been doing okay. Been realitively tired all the time and think I have a minor case of insomnia. So when I'm tired in the middle of the day I don't know if I should try to take a nap or not. Most of time when I try I just lay there wide awake anyways. The insomnia isn't anything serious and I'm sure it will go away in due time. If you want to know more about why, give me a call. I just don't want to post it on here, until everyone knows. Or I've tried as hard as I can to let everyone know.

And Happy Saint Patrick's Day. I'm not crazy about the common way of celebration, but I am Irish so I am celebrating it for dinner with Corned Beef and Cabage. I just hope it turns out like my moms. Yum, I love that stuff. Here's some interesting information I never knew about the good old Saint Patrick.

What's going on around here...

Well, it's been a little while since I last post. Can I use the excuse that Febuary was a short month, even though it is only 2 days shorter? I've been up to a lot, but nothing really interesting in the last week or so. But just keeping busy.

I went on the Calvary Assembly of God Women's Retreat in Febuary. It was really good. It was about having your life be worship to God. We also have been to Disneyland a few times, but I have pictures from the time that a couple of us gals went right after the retreat. We didn't get home till I think around 2 a.m. on Monday. Our poor husbands.

Here is a slideshow of that weekend.

We also took Penelope to her 18 month check-up. A little late. But we had two trips in Febuary (our romantic get-away, and the retreat) and she was sick in that month. I knew she was getting shots so I didn't try to squeeze it in when she was already feeling ill. But she is growing really big. She is 35 1/2 inches tall and 27 lbs 14 ozs. She is off the charts for her height (again) and her weight is in the 90th percentile (is finally cetching up to her height). So she is getting really big. She only has to grow 4 1/2 more inches and she can ride on more of the Disney rides. (Is that bad that I think of that? Oh well.)

Penelope is constantly saying new words. It seems like everyday she can say something new.

So everything is doing good around here. How is it doing with you all?
